Training. Working with data. The course will introduce you to the necessary material from discrete mathematics, calculus, linear algebra and probability theory to fully understand and be able to solve data analysis problems. The goal of the course is also to develop mathematical thinking, which is important in the modern field of Computer Science in general and in data analysis in particular.
The course introduces students to the basic concepts of probability theory: probability space, conditional probability, random variables, independence, mathematical expectation and dispersion. The law of large numbers and some versions of limit theorems are proved. Many examples and problems have been covered.
The course provides an introduction to general algebra with an emphasis on morphisms and partial ordering of structures.
