Until I read the first article on this subject, I tossed another, so that, apparently, the topic is really relevant at the moment. The studies were conducted on the basis of Facebook, but I think that the results do not depend on what social network you use, whether it's Facebook, Google+ or Vkontakte.
So, in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) published an article in which shows the extent to which may be revealing our «like», «like» or pros.
Previous studies have shown how the knowledge about the demographic data (age, gender and level of education) you can guess the other characteristics of the person just glancing at the online profile and viewing history visits sites.
But a new study by Michael David Stilvelom Cassino and at Cambridge University, goes much further, demonstrating the potential of viewing profiles users to identify clues that may indicate sexual orientation of people are religious and political views, as well as the use of drugs.
The study was conducted fairly simple - 58,000 volunteers opened their profiles on Facebook and fill out additional questionnaires. We investigated the link between searched «Like» and other characteristics. That's all. The following are examples of accuracy falling into certain categories.
- lonely — 67%
- Lives with parents — 80%
- He smokes cigarettes — 73%
- drinking alcohol — 70%
- hooked — 65%
- Racist — 95%
- Religious views — 82%
- Political Views — 85%
- Male sexual orientation — 88%
- Sexual orientation women — 75%
- Age — 93%
It would seem that many people build themselves a certain way on social networks - clearly publish selected pictures and thoughts, share links and other content that may be of interest to them or to those with whom they want to establish communication, and so Further. But it is worth just a little to let go of the reins and give in to weakness or emotion, layknut someone's comment, publication or link, and all - sand castle may be destroyed, one has only to take a closer look at a man of insight to your profile and tape.
So be careful and make sure that, on what buttons to push.
