The goal of the program is to acquire students a set of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field institutionalization, exhibition and circulation of works of art for the purpose of further professional activities in the specified area.

The training cycle for students of the educational program is designed for 72 hours.

Training takes place in a specialized classroom (G 256) for lectures and in the equipped gallery space of the REC "Cogito Art Gallery" for practical classes.
For all courses of the program there are special methodological developments compiled and tested during 15 years of work professional retraining program "Aesthetics: art business", an adapted version of which is a real program.
Upon completion of training, graduates of the program should reach a new level of quality theoretical and practical work with artistic values, corresponding to the functional position of art in the life of modern society. The theoretical side is tested by a comprehensive final exam, the practical side is tested by a public presentation of an educational exhibition project at the REC "Cogito Art Gallery".
Admission requirements: higher education, passing an entrance test in the form of an interview
Learning outcomes:
Upon completion of the program, a graduate will acquire new professional qualities that allow him to work in the field institutionalization, exhibition and circulation of works of art, must have the following basic professional skills competencies (PC):
1. Fundamental theoretical competencies:
- systematized knowledge in the field of art history and gallery institutions;
- systematized knowledge in the field of history and content of aesthetic theory.
2. Applied theoretical competencies:
- knowledge of materials, creative techniques and artistic technologies in various types of art;
- knowledge of techniques and technologies of modern exhibiting;
- knowledge of the general principles of institutionalization of artistic names, movements in art and individual works of art;
- knowledge of the economic and marketing patterns of the functioning of the art economy and the art market;
- knowledge of the basic norms of international and Russian law describing the problems associated with the circulation of cultural property.
3. Practical competencies:
- the ability to develop an aesthetically and economically sound concept for the activities of a gallery institution;
- ability to develop and implement an aesthetically sound and economically feasible exhibition project;
- the ability to communicate effectively with representatives of all internal groups of the art environment (artists, gallery owners, other curators, art historians, critics, journalists, the public) and participants in the art business process (art managers, art dealers, technical staff of galleries and auctions, representatives of relevant government bodies and regulation);
- ability to write exhibition texts of all types.
