In the days of Steve Jobs, Apple has evolved from a small eccentric company that makes cool computers (Creating at the same time all sorts of oddities, like Newton, ahead of its time), into a powerful corporation of our time. Most of its success it owes to its founder, thanks to its close attention to detail, commitment to secrecy, and primarily due to the flair with which he accurately determine what people will want in the future, rather than what they want right now.
With the departure of Steve's Life in 2011, the reins of power passed into the hands of Tim Cook, the then position of Executive Director. As with any major changes to the regime, there were changes in management approaches, but judging by the what we saw at WWDC presentation, Apple's, it seems, is finally taking his new image and it great.
Why now?
Despite the fact that Tim runs the company for several years, the formation of a new image took time, which went to its adoption not only clients and Apple fans, but also its employees. The Wall Street Journal conducted a comprehensive analysis to understand why it took so long, but if in two words - all a matter of practical approach, which is very widely used in Jobs company.
Steve literally delved into every aspect of a process at Apple, often showing excessive interest in the smallest details of design and software. Tim adheres to other principles in leadership, enabling people to take responsibility for their work, giving them the freedom of action and opportunity to work beyond the shadow of a genius, as did Jobs, glancing through shoulder. That's what it took time - people had to rethink their role in the company.
Despite the fact that these changes are taking place quite slowly, employees perceive their very warm and very enthusiastic.
New direction
Changes in the company's best are illustrated in a modified logo, presented recently. Tim Cook has published on Twitter the new logo, which was used at the Pride Parade in San Francisco to show Apple's policy in matters of tolerance and acceptance.
Apple has always showed its anti-discrimination, but this was only the internal affairs of the company - outside it did not show the slightest activity. It was the decision of Jobs, who has been focused on creating new products and felt that an open demonstration on the public can influence the profitability and profit.
Tim Cook on the contrary, seeks to establish warmer relations between the company and its employees, encouraging them to innovate and improve the image of Apple as a whole.
Cook on the intellectual property protection as much attention, though acting in a softer manner. Apple is still heavily dependent on litigation to defend their ideas and projects, however, under the leadership of Cook, the company operates Bole reasonable and ready to settle many disputes peacefully. A striking example of this is the current position in the competition with Google.
Change and continuity
However, Apple does not change anything. New patents show that the change in leadership in no way affected the relentless devotion to aesthetics and design products. Cook's recent performances at technical conferences around the world, as well as brilliant WWDC 2014 show that Apple still it supports and appreciates both software developers and equipment, increasing the compatibility and interoperability with other applications.
Despite the fact that the company is changing and the direction of development is indicated - both consumers and developers can be assured. Apple has a new captain, quality and innovation, in which we have grown up and are so loved by the company - and it will all be in abundance for many years to come.
