Professor at SKOLKOVO and the Russian School of Economics (NES), former director of the SKOLKOVO-NES Center for Research on Financial Technologies and Digital Economy.
Research interests: asset management, asset pricing and macroeconomics as applied to financial markets.
Until 2018, he was the academic director of economics programs at the Sberbank Corporate University, and was an associate professor of finance at NES and Warwick Business School, UK.
Graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov and NES master's degree in economics. He has a Candidate of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics from Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov and PhD in Finance from London Business School (2011). He acts as an expert on television and writes columns for Forbes, Vedomosti, Kommersant, RBC and Prime.

From 1998 to 2018, Dmitry worked in management positions in large Western and federal Russian companies: Johnson & Johnson, ConocoPhillips, Rostelecom, RUSAL and others. Dmitry participated in the formation of regional development strategies for companies, development and implementation of basic processes and operating models, staffing and managing project teams, searching and developing teams top management. In addition, Dmitry’s area of responsibility included tasks related to organizing interaction between NPOs and corporate social responsibility, ensuring corporate partnerships with NPOs, implementing the CSR strategy within the framework of the strategic interests of companies in EMEA and CIS.
Dmitry received his basic education as an engineer-economist at the Kazakh Institute of Chemical Technology and studied management and marketing at the University of Kentucky (USA).

Vadim Makhov is a professor of business practice, a famous entrepreneur, manager and expert innovator.
Vadim is a graduate of the State University of Management, where in 1999 he defended his PhD thesis in economics. In 2000 he received an MBA from Northumbria University Business School.
Vadim Makhov has been teaching at open programs and seminars at the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO since 2009. Author/co-author of the courses “Business Planning”, “Innovation”, “Outline of the Future” and “The Smart Investor”, for which he created a unique business game that develops the skills and principles of effective investing. These courses are based on his extensive experience working in management positions in large companies, as well as his research on the history of innovation.
For the last 5 years, Vadim Makhov has been engaged in active research and teaching in the field of innovation and finance.
Vadim Makhov is the author of Humanity's Lucky Clover: A Global History of Discovery, Technology, Competition, and Wealth (2016). On January 15, 2019, the United Nations Library in Geneva selected this book for its collection.
Author of the book “Innovators Win. The battlefield is heavy engineering" (2013). In 2015, his article “OMZ Group Chairman of the Board of Directors about the Ways of Retrieving the Lost Markets” was published in the Harvard Business Review Russia magazine.
He took an active part in many unique innovative projects of Russian and foreign companies, and was at the forefront of the development of fundamentally new products. In 2008, Vadim founded the Bard Worldwide investment fund, which invests in future technologies.
Vadim has extensive experience in corporate governance as a member of the board of directors in well-known companies in various industries. Gained significant practical experience being responsible for strategy, operational improvements and business restructuring at Severstal. He worked as a visiting lecturer at Cranfield University from 2007 to 2016.
