The program is intended for government officials, scientists and practitioners involved in the analysis of social processes or implementation of the results of this analysis in the form of new practices of interaction with social groups and communities. The program material gives listeners an idea of the characteristics of human behavior on the Internet, formation of social groups in virtual space, features of the organization and deployment of network social movements. Attention is also paid to certain aspects of information warfare in electronic networks.
A significant advantage of the educational program is the practical part, which not only introduces students to modern practice working with social media, but also provides an opportunity to develop your own skills in obtaining and analyzing sociological information from social media.
The purpose of training – to introduce students to modern practices of obtaining and analyzing information contained in electronic social media, as well as to formulate listeners knowledge and practical skills in researching both individual digital profiles and virtual communities, incl. network movements in social media.

The discipline program summarizes the theoretical foundations of digital sociology at the present stage of its development, offering a wide range of methodological and methodological approaches to analysis information from social media, practical cases of the work of specialists involved in analyzing information from social media are presented, simulators for analytical practice have been developed students.
As a result of training within the framework of their existing qualifications, students acquire the following competencies necessary for their professional activities:
- mastery of the conceptual apparatus of digital sociology;
- understanding the essence and typology of modern social media (“Vkontakte”, “Facebook”, “Instagram”, "Odnoklassniki", "Twitter", etc.), as well as features of digitalization and virtualization of social processes;
- understanding the mechanisms of user behavior in the Internet space and the characteristics of the account owner, taking into account the characteristics of his page and the user actions performed;
- skills in identifying “fake” messages, as well as knowledge of the features and technologies of information warfare and information attacks;
- skills of analytical work with information obtained from social media;
