I do not know about you, but I always set different volume levels for headphones and a MacBook's speakers. OS X supports separate audio adjustment for different outputs, so you can easily adjust the desired level and play with it constantly. This will save you from unpleasant situations where you accidentally pull out the headphones plug into some quiet place and prevented surrounding loud music, causing condemning the views. Or when you when you connect headphones forget that the last time you connected external speakers will be stunned at high volume. In this small article I will tell you how to avoid such things.
All we need to do is to set the desired volume level for headphones and built-in speakers. This can be done as follows.
- Connect the headphones to your Mac.
- Open the system settings OS X and go to the section Sound.
- Switch to tab Exit and use the slider to set the desired volume level, check that the output device displays the headphones.
Everything. Now headphone you will be asked a certain volume and if they are not connected, the Volume buttons on the keypad to adjust the level of the integrated loudspeakers. As soon as you disconnect the headphones - output device will change immediately and you will see the type -
Built-in, But with their volume. Similarly, you can adjust the volume level for the speaker, but it is not so important because we vseravno constantly adjust it during the day. In principle, you can change the volume of the headphones without having to setup, just plug your headphones and turn down or turn up the volume buttons on the keyboard. I gave an example of a method of adjusting via settings for illustrative purposes only.bonus
Keep in mind that these settings only make sense if you have a very powerful headphones or too sensitive hearing. If the minimum volume level for you vseravno too high - you can use an old trick that allows you to reduce the adjustment step. For this, together with the volume button, press the keyboard shortcut ⇧⌥ (Shift + Option). After that, the volume will change four times slower, ie the "cube" of the scale is divided into 4 parts. By the way, this trick also works to adjust the brightness. ;)
