The program gives an in-depth understanding of modern means of expression in the plastic arts, teaches how to work in painting and graphics, as well as in mixed media.
The training is aimed at working with the artist himself and his creative thinking. Students not only master new techniques, but learn to build the space of a painting through strong color. Form their own visual language. This will allow you to work in art as a modern drawing artist and implement current creative projects.
The program is a logical continuation of the “Fundamentals of Fine Arts” “Fundamentals of Fine Arts”: on it students improve skills in complex artistic techniques and develop creative thinking through a more professional use of color and space.
Working with different techniques. During the classes you will work with acrylic, pastel, watercolor and oil painting. Learn printmaking techniques, print techniques that contain active color, and incorporate 3D structures into your work.
Practical and on-site classes. More than 100 hours of classes in the program are practical. They include field work in the open air, life painting from a model and animalistic practice.
At the end there is an open viewing. During 3.5 months of intensive training, you will create more than 40 completed works in different techniques, and at the end you will present them in the Britannia exhibition space. A series of your works will be ready for exhibition in any modern art space.

Main modules
The program gives an in-depth understanding of modern means of expression in plastic art, compositional and coloristic components of the work. During the training, you will learn how to build the space of a painting through color, and try to develop an individual visual language. In theoretical classes, immerse yourself in the history and theory of art, which you can rely on in your practical work.
History of art. The origins of new art of the twentieth century
During the lectures we will study visual arts from the Paleolithic to our time. Let us separately consider the twentieth century and the emergence of a new understanding of art in response to the need to rethink form and space.
Painting techniques
In practical classes we will work with acrylic, watercolor and oil painting, as well as explore the work of modern and classical artists. We will alternate painting from life with working on individual themes.
Graphic techniques
Life-based practices will introduce you to the painterly potential of pastels and colored pencils. You will make a color linocut from multiple boards, exploring how colors interact when physically applied.
Mixed media
You will continue to work with color in volume and with altered space, using non-standard materials and techniques of assemblage and collage.
Final project
The final project is a series of works in which students will develop an individual theme using a wide range of materials, techniques and other expressive means of contemporary drawing and painting. This series will be a completed project, ready to be presented at an exhibition.
