Joachim de Posada during his speech at the TED talks about a very simple experiment being done with children four, five and six years of age in different countries. They were given candy and asked to wait another 15 minutes and not have it. If they do not eat sweet during this time, then get another candy.
This experiment may seem very simple, but that it can be used to predict how successful this can be a child, when older.
As a result, two of the three could not resist and ate candy. After 15 years of data on children were collected, which took part in these experiments. It was found that 100% of those who resist, become successful. Those who ate a piece of candy, had bad grades, problems with their parents, and some have not been able to go to college.

The conclusion is simple - wait a bit and you get a double reward.
And this is a video of one of these experiments, «The Marshmallow Test».
But you would be able to resist and not to eat my candy? :)
