The course “Incentives and remuneration” appeared in response to a massive request from managers and specialists on personnel management to fill the gaps in understanding the management mechanisms of material rewards.
In the course of many consulting projects, the author of the course had to deal with the fact that practitioners involved in people management processes poorly understand the possibilities and limitations of remuneration as a means of influencing production behavior and professional results employees. In existing textbooks and scientific and practical literature, the prevailing view of remuneration is from the point of view of compliance legal requirements, solving problems of accounting and management accounting, as well as managing corporate costs. At the same time, many phenomena that are generated by the economic essence of wages as a means of satisfying needs person, as well as the psychological characteristics of employees’ perception of material remuneration and personal income, remain parentheses. As a result, managers make decisions to change the composition and amounts of remuneration, which lead to results that are incomprehensible to them. In this case, the blame is most often shifted to “ungrateful” employees, which further aggravates the situation and leads to noticeable and sometimes critical declines in labor productivity, employee loyalty to the organization, and their involvement in work.
Main objective of the course – consider remuneration as a means of influencing the professional activities of workers and stimulating the growth of labor efficiency. An overview of existing remuneration systems will be presented, and recommendations on their application will be given.
