The presented program provides a comprehensive view of the problems that businesses face when determining the value of a company, as well as the methods that are used to manage its value. The program included 3 courses:
Course "Analysis of financial statements" is aimed at developing in students basic knowledge about modern systems of evaluation indicators financial condition of the organization for the purpose of making management decisions by stakeholders by users. As a result of studying the discipline, the student must understand the logic and principles of constructing financial statements, as well as the content procedures for economic reading and analysis of public reporting as elements of the financial decision-making process in regarding the company. The first part of the course is devoted directly to the financial statements themselves (the logic of their formation, the principles by which they are compiled, the essential content of individual sections, identification of the most significant economic categories associated with reporting - profit, goodwill). The second part of the course examines analytical coefficients, which are structured into certain blocks that characterize the relevant aspects of activity that are of interest to the analyst. The most popular coefficients are presented, their calculation and economic interpretation are explained, and the boundaries of their analytical capabilities are identified.
Course “Evaluation of business and investment projects” intended for students and professionals faced with the task of assessing the effectiveness of investment projects and determining the value of companies both as a whole and blocks of shares for the purpose of making further management decisions. The course examines the basic ideas and principles for assessing the effectiveness of investment projects involving investments in real (non-financial) assets. It also reveals issues related to the regulation of valuation activities in the Russian Federation, the main approaches and methods to determining the value of a business in accordance with current valuation standards. The listener will become familiar with the basic theoretical postulates of comparative, income and cost approaches to assessing the value of a business. For each of the approaches, training tasks will be proposed that demonstrate some of the difficult aspects of applying these approaches in practice. The course also covers issues related to the use of discounts and bonuses in business valuation (discounts for lack of liquidity, discounts and bonuses for the lack and presence of control).
Course "Company Value Management" is aimed at mastering key tools for managing company value in both theoretical and practical terms. It gives a comprehensive understanding of the process of managing different categories of enterprise value and allows you to master the methods of economic justification for business development strategies. The proposed course covers the features of analyzing company reporting from the point of view of managing its value, allowing for better understand what you should pay attention to when analyzing it first, see problem areas and make optimization decisions situations. Students will gain an understanding of the relationship between different categories of business value, including mastering the tools for analyzing a company’s position on the stock market. The uniqueness of the course lies in the fact that it combines business assessment, reporting analysis and company management. After mastering the material, the student will understand how these three areas are interconnected and will be able to look at business holistically.
