Who is this course for?
The course is designed for graduates working in the field of geosciences who are interested in improving their readiness for public speaking in English and for correct speech communication in academic sphere.
What will you learn?
The course develops students' speaking skills in English in monologue and dialogic forms within the framework of the main professionally necessary genres of academic speaking (speaking at conferences, giving lectures and etc.). Provides listening skills. Forms practical proficiency in oral speech in English in typical situations of official and informal oral business academic communication.
How are classes going?
The course consists of alternating theoretical lectures with practical and independent studies. The classes will end with a final assessment, during which students read an excerpt from a lecture (20 minutes long) in their specialty. Upon successful completion of the training, students are issued a standard certificate of advanced training.
