Workshop on working with requirements: from classics to user stories - course RUB 22,900. from IBS Training Center, training 16 hours, Date November 27, 2023.
Miscellaneous / / November 29, 2023
Without exaggeration, we can say that working with requirements is the most critical and least defined stage in software development. The most responsible - because the success of the entire project depends on how fully and correctly the true needs of the customer are identified. Least defined - because these needs can only be learned from the customer’s employees, who do not always well understand the intricacies of software development.
But for a project to be successful, it is not enough to simply know the customer’s needs. They need to be turned into a well-structured list of clear and unambiguous requirements, sufficient for designing the system architecture and for developing and testing software modules. At the same time, you need to remember that often these requirements are all that the development team knows about the customer’s subject area.
The course is devoted to studying all of the above issues and practicing the basic ways of describing requirements: in the form of structured text, user stories, use cases and Use Cases diagrams. Additionally, students will learn how to use requirements attributes and requirements relationships (tracing) to estimate project effort.
During the course, students will gain an understanding of the importance of various aspects of the Analyst role - not only technical, but also psychological and communication. Much attention in the course is paid to the rules for identifying stakeholders, organizing constructive interaction with them and ways to determine their needs.
Although the course is based on a traditional view of working with requirements, Agile supporters will also find a lot of useful things in it. After all, the main approaches to studying the subject area, methods for identifying the needs of stakeholders, problem analysis the customer and the search for their solutions in most cases have much in common, regardless of the development methodology used BY. Thus, the course will be useful for anyone involved in collecting, analyzing, documenting and testing software requirements.
