Motion designer is a specialist who creates animated graphics. The main task of a motion designer is to create a cool animated video and, in a few seconds, tell the viewer accurately, intelligibly, and, most importantly, in a fun way... about anything!
Motion design is very diverse. During the course, you will get acquainted with the basics that a motion designer needs - the basics of directing, editing, psychology and animation. After training, you will have two options - set yourself a long-term goal of becoming a generalist who can do everything, or choose one narrow specialization.
Purpose of the course - teach you to work on the pipeline of different areas of motion design and help you become a sought-after specialist. The course is divided into two parts - starting from the third block, you will be able to choose the direction in which you are interested in developing further.
During the lessons, students will unite into small “indie studios”, some will be responsible for the script, some for animation, and some for editing.

Preparatory block [Introduction to Motion Design]
You will learn to work in the interface of After Effects, Cinema 4D, Photoshop, Illustrator, and create in these programs new projects and add new materials there, you will learn how to import and export videos to different programs.
We study the field, the basics of dramaturgy and pre-production
You will learn about areas where motion design is in great demand. You will become familiar with the positions and responsibilities of team members in the studio. You will study the basic principles of dramaturgy and the mechanics of literary patterns. You will learn how to develop creative energy and get acquainted with the basic principles of design. You will learn to collect moodboards and storyboards and analyze other people's experiences for personal growth.
First steps and immersion in animation
You will learn the differences between 3D, 2.5D and 2D animations. You will get acquainted with After Effects and Cinema 4D, work with keys, begin to animate and combine simple objects, work with the camera, text, and sound. You will master basic visual tricks: editing, transitions and stylizing animation for sound.
Visualization and experiments
You will learn to use Photoshop and Illustrator to fill animations with materials, color, and texture. You will work in render engines for painting, lighting and animation optimization. You will get acquainted with procedural animation, study morphs, transitions, and techniques for simulating real physics in After Effects and Cinema 4D.
Video + Motion, last steps and release in After Effects
You will study video formats, camera tracking in Cinema 4D and After Effects, combine video with 3D and process it. You will compose layers in After Effects, learn masks and blending modes. You will apply the final polish, render and publish the work on sites. And as a bonus, you will learn how to communicate with clients, negotiate and work with edits.
