Miscellaneous / / November 28, 2023
During the course we will teach everything a 3D artist needs to know. For example, how to create 3D models or present your work to impress a customer or employer.
There are no theorists among our teachers, only practitioners with many years of experience and fame in the industry. Here you can read about each of them. Spoiler: they are all cool and knowledgeable about modern technology.
Skills for working in the studio
The knowledge is enough to get a job as a junior specialist in a studio.
Programming skills
During the course you will work with Maya, Blender, Substance Painter, Marmoset Toolbag and Photoshop.
2 full works in the portfolio and 10 draft models
During the course, the student will create 10+ draft models, as well as 2 full-fledged works, which he can put in a portfolio to impress a customer or employer.
Block 1.
Introduction to the course
We will tell you how the training program is structured, how to do your homework and where to download it. You will also learn how a 3D artist can develop in the profession and get a job.
Block 2.
Model sketch and modeling algorithm
You will become familiar with the correct algorithm for creating 3D models - the pipeline. You will learn about the stages of the pipeline and approaches to creating models. You will learn the processes of creating draft models, searching and collecting references in order to create silhouettes based on them, paint them and add interesting details.
Block 3.
Technical stages
You will learn what optimized low-poly and detailed high-poly models are - low-poly and high-poly, and learn how to create them. You will get acquainted with topology, learn how to scan and bake models.
Block 4.
Textures
You will start working in Substance Painter and learn how to create textures using the PBR pipeline, understand “metals” and “dielectrics”, and understand how to texture your models.
Block 5.
Submission and publication
You'll learn how to render a model to highlight its features using light, shadow, and composition. We will also tell you how to publish your finished model on Artstation in a way that will attract the attention of customers.
