Who is this course for?
The advanced training program is designed for specialists working in the field of landscape architecture, gardening, estate, engineering, road and urban construction, public utilities, environmental management, landscape planning and landscaping design. The course is devoted to an urgent problem in the field of landscape engineering work - the elimination of excess surface and subsoil moisture on construction sites sites, in the area of laying foundations, laying communications, roads, sports facilities, parks, cottage villages, aeration fields, arrangement of all types landscapes.
What will you learn?
In a series of interactive classes you will learn about innovative technologies for professional drainage construction used in drainage of cottage complexes and individual estates, foundations of buildings and structures, small architectural forms, sports facilities, road surfaces, parks, nurseries, gardens, playgrounds, septic systems, hydroplastic elements, etc., storm water management sewerage. In an interactive form, the lecturer will introduce students to methods for determining the types of groundwater and methods of pre-project analysis of landscapes, including including, determining the feasibility of draining it, with modern methods of drainage construction (carpet, vertical, cross drainage, drainage of nurseries, gardens, sports facilities, etc.) and new drainage materials (drains, geotextiles, drainage mats, filters, geogrids and etc.). During the classes, students will complete a drainage project for a typical plot of estate territory, including drainage of buildings, gardens, ponds, small architectural forms, etc. Classes will be accompanied by demonstrations of soil sections and samples, as well as structures and materials discussed.
In what format are classes held?
The course includes lectures, practical and demonstration classes, excursions, and independent work. Upon successful completion of the educational program, students will receive a certificate of advanced training of the established type.
Section 1: Introduction. Types, features and principles of soil and landscape engineering, including at low-rise buildings
1.1 Technologies for organizing drainage in estate construction are an integral part of soil engineering and soil-landscape engineering. Features of soil landscape engineering: in agricultural landscapes, in waterlogged areas, in urbanized areas, in areas of transport highways, in technogenic landscapes, in estate and low-rise buildings construction. Prospects for the development of soil engineering in the development of new methods of environmental development.
Section 2: Pre-project analysis of territories: composition of activities, methods, role of engineering geological and hydrological surveys
2.1 Characteristics of the relief: types of relief, relief elements, exposure, slope steepness, magnitude slope, insolation, watershed lines, thalweg lines, dimensions and boundaries of landscape forms, area catchment area
2.2 Analysis of technical reports (description of engineering-geological layers) compiled based on the results of engineering-geological and engineering-hydrogeological drilling. Main categories of groundwater and their characteristics. Determination of preferential moisture flows. Determination of rock types and soil granulometric composition.
2.3 Based on the results of the pre-project analysis, compilation of a soil engineering map in order to identify groups of landscapes by degree the need for soil landscape engineering activities, choosing the right design solution, determining the feasibility of performing technical tasks.
Section 3: Types and features of drainage in areas of cottage and estate construction. Soil engineering calculations and soil engineering design.
3.1 Analysis of factors of waterlogging of landscapes. Features of soil-landscape planning and landscaping of waterlogged areas. Assessing the feasibility of draining the territory's soils.
3.2 Classification of types of drainage, various types of drainage systems. Features of soil drainage in low-rise buildings. Drainage of low-rise structures, spatial-architectural forms: alpine hills, dry streams, grottoes, parapets, amphitheatres, parterres, alleys; landscape and architectural structures: retaining walls, terraces, paths. Features of drainage and cultivation of soils for gardens and tree nurseries. Features of soil drainage for sports, playgrounds and recreation areas. Drainage materials, new insulating and filtering polymer materials. Volumetric filters, their types and purpose. Trench filters, evaluation of their effectiveness. Possibilities and limitations of using SNiPs. Soil hydrological calculations.
3.3 Project for drainage of low-rise buildings. Contents of the drainage project, diagrams of engineering structures, explanatory note, estimate. Rules for designing a project, features of implementation (features of technology and construction), implementation of the project, designer's supervision. Operation of drainage: monitoring and supervision, operation of the water intake and drainage area, flushing of drains. Assessing the causes of drainage disruption.
