St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" was founded in 1886 and was the first higher educational institution in Europe specialized in the field of electrical engineering.
Training of bachelors, masters and specialists is carried out at 7 faculties of full-time education. The Open Faculty prepares bachelors in full-time, part-time and part-time forms of study.
Currently preparations are underway:
- in undergraduate studies: in 19 areas (43 educational programs) for full-time study;
- in 10 areas of full-time and part-time study;
- in 4 areas of correspondence education;
- in the master's program - in 15 areas (53 educational programs) full-time, 6 of which are implemented in English;
- in the specialty - 2 full-time specialties (4 educational programs).
- In 2017, 28 educational programs were recognized as “The best educational programs in innovative Russia.”
- 46 educational programs are certified by the European Association ENAEE.
Training of personnel of the highest scientific qualifications is carried out in 43 scientific specialties. Currently, 234 graduate students are studying at LETI. The university has 9 dissertation councils in 23 scientific specialties. More than 50 people graduate from graduate school every year.
Currently, 9226 students, graduate students and trainees are studying at LETI. The university has 3 full members and 5 corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 20 laureates of national and international awards, more than 220 professors and doctors of science. Every year, the university graduates about 2,000 specialists in its main educational programs.
The research and innovation complex of St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI", in addition to 350 educational and scientific laboratories of seven faculties, includes a Technopark, 8 scientific and educational centers, 3 resource centers, 5 research institutes, Youth Research Institute, 14 basic departments at specialized enterprises - strategic partners. The university's technology park provides a range of business services to 37 small innovative enterprises. More than 200 teachers, students and graduate students work annually in small firms of the Technopark.
More than 100 enterprises in high-tech industries are strategic partners of LETI. Among the foreign partners of St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" are 19 large industrial enterprises, 15 research institutes and centers, 160 universities from 75 countries.
In 2013, St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" named after. IN AND. Ulyanov (Lenin) became a laureate of the St. Petersburg Government Prize for the quality of educational services.
The university ranks 8th among technical universities in Russia and 2nd among technical universities in St. Petersburg in the ranking of demand for universities in the Russian Federation. In 2018, LETI took 5th place among technical universities in Russia and 2nd place among technical universities in St. Petersburg in monitoring the quality of admission to universities. In terms of monitoring the employment of graduates, St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" ranks 1st among technical universities in St. Petersburg.
From 2013 to 2020, St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" was one of the participants in the Competitiveness Improvement Project leading Russian universities among the world's leading scientific and educational centers (Project 5-100).
In 2021, St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" became one of the universities participating in the Priority 2030 program and became a recipient the basic part of the grant, as well as a special part of the grant on the track “Territorial and (or) sectoral leadership".
