Lionsgate's adaptation of the cult anime Naruto shows signs of life

Variety recently published list screenwriters whose work is worth following. Among them was Tasha Huo (“The Witcher: Origins"), and a feature-length adaptation of Naruto for Lionsgate was mentioned among the upcoming projects.
This film studio has been trying to release a Naruto movie since 2015 with the help of producer Avi Arad. At the start of the project, director Michael Gracie (“The Greatest Showman”) and mangaka Masashi Kishimoto, the author of “Naruto,” joined the project. However, nothing has been announced about a film adaptation since then.
The ambitious project seemed to be abandoned, but the fresh mention of “Naruto” in Tasha Huo’s list of projects gives us hope that the film is still in Lionsgate’s immediate plans.
"Naruto" tells the story of the life of restless teenage ninja Naruto Uzumaki, who dreams of achieving universal recognition and becoming Hokage - the head of his village. He will have to go through ninja exams, various missions and battles, losing a friend, falling in love and, of course, growing up. Since the start of broadcasting, over 700 episodes of Naruto have already been aired.
