Microsoft did not object, supporting the new agreement.
Five days after now coup On the OpenAI board, Sam Altman returns as CEO. Former President Greg Brockman, who resigned in protest of the CEO's ouster, also will return.
In his statement The company officially announced that it had an "agreement in principle" to bring back Altman along with a new board of directors consisting of Bret Taylor, Larry Summers and Adam D'Angelo. The latter is a member of the previous board that initially fired Altman - he remains on the board as some representation of the previous management.
Sam himself too confirmed your return.
I love OpenAI, and everything I've done over the past few days has been to keep this team and its mission united. When I decided to join MSFT, it became clear that this was the best path for me and the team. With the new board of directors and Satya's support, I look forward to returning to OpenAI and building on our strong partnership with MSFT.

The new board of directors is expected to reboot OpenAI's governance. Microsoft will likely get a seat on this expanded board, as will Altman himself. MS CEO Satya Nadella
welcomed new agreement.Altman's return is even more shocking than his sudden departure. The board of the nonprofit OpenAI seemed determined to remove Sam entirely, replacing two CEOs in three days to avoid his reinstatement. But OpenAI employees rebelled, threatening to move to Microsoft along with Altman and co-founder Greg Brockman if the board did not resign. And it apparently worked. The entire company - one of the most promising in the world - could crumble like a house of cards, and all because of one person.
Such an action-packed mini-series at the end of the year.
