Plus two ultimate assemblies: with the best and “popular” components.
Enthusiasts from the ElectronicsHub portal found out, which PC components are rated most highly by users of PCPartPicker, a popular portal for comparing prices and compatibility of computer components. At the same time, they looked at which components were the most popular - that is, not necessarily highly rated, but used in assemblies most often.
Component tops
To select the best components, the authors calculated how many users gave the maximum rating of 5 stars out of the total number of reviews - converted into percentages. The leaders turned out to be:
- Processor AMD Ryzen 9 3950X (98%);
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600 processor (97%);
- Power supply SeaSonic FOCUS Plus 650 (97%);
- AMD Ryzen 9 5950X processor (96%);
- EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G3 power supply (96%);
- Processor AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D (96%);
- NVIDIA Founders Edition GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (96%);
- SSD Western Digital Black SN850X 2 TB (96%);
- SSD Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB (95%);
- SSD Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB (95%).
If we talk about the most popular components (that is, those that are used in the largest number of assemblies according to PCPartPicker), then the top 10 looks like this:
- HDD Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB (14,052 assemblies);
- Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM (6,420 assemblies);
- AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor (5,678 assemblies);
- SSD Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB (5,459 assemblies);
- HDD Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB (5,140 assemblies);
- SSD Samsung 850 Evo 500 GB (4,598 assemblies);
- AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor (4,571 builds);
- HDD Seagate Barracuda 1 TB (4,527 assemblies);
- SSD Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB (4,284 assemblies);
- SSD Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB (3,887 assemblies).
Top builds
The authors have compiled builds using the best and most popular components in their categories. Here's what a computer looks like assembled from components with the highest ratio of 5-star ratings:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X (98%);
- Motherboard: MSI MEG X570 Unify (92%);
- Video card: NVIDIA Founders Edition GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (96%);
- Power supply: SeaSonic FOCUS Plus 650 (97%);
- Cooler: Noctua NH-U125 (95%);
- Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200, two 16 GB sticks (92%);
- Storage: SSD Western Digital Black SN850X 2 TB (96%);
- Case: Lian Li PC-011 (92%).
In the USA, assembling such a computer would cost about $1,746 (≈153,500 rubles).
And this is a “folk” assembly from the most popular components:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (5,678 builds);
- Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (Wi-Fi) (1,733 builds);
- Video card: MSI GAMING GeForce GTX 970 (1,172 builds);
- Power supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 750 W 80+ (2,212 assemblies);
- Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM (6,420 assemblies);
- Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200, two 8 GB sticks (3,267 assemblies);
- Storage: HDD Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB (14,052 assemblies);
- Case: Fractal Design Meshify C ATX (1,760 builds).
Such a computer will be almost half the price: about 975 dollars (≈85,700 rubles). In both cases, consumables such as thermal paste are not taken into account.
It is important to note that when compiling the tops, data was taken only from the USA: PCPartPicker is also available in a number of European countries, but their statistics were not taken into account when compiling.

It just so happens that on the Russian market moka coffee makers are called exclusively geyser coffee makers. I think readers might have questions if the collection talked about moka coffee makers, and the links included the usual geyser ones.
