YouTube slows loading in all browsers except Chrome and Edge
Miscellaneous / / November 20, 2023
If you have Firefox, Safari or Vivaldi, there is a simple solution.
Many users on the Internet complain for unusually long loading of videos on YouTube: with a stable and fast Internet connection, the site interface loads with a long delay.
After analyzing the YouTube code, enthusiasts discovered setTimeout function, which stops loading for 5 seconds. However, in the Chrome and Edge browsers this function is not performed and the download occurs immediately.
This is probably not a conscious decision, but just a bug or leftover code. Perhaps things got messed up during implementation ban on ad blockers. Until this is fixed, users of other browsers can use the change in the User Agent parameter - so that YouTube thinks that you are logged in through Chrome, although in fact you are using Firefox.
To do this, just install a browser extension - for example, User Agent Switcher (Firefox) or its equivalents. Such extensions work the same way: they add a button to the toolbar to change the User Agent. Select Google Chrome from the list and try going to YouTube - this should fix the situation. Viewing in a private tab also helps some users.
Google has not yet commented on this issue.

itâs just some kind of wild âdonât understand whatâs in the fantasy genreâ thing like âmoonfallâ... not even 10 or 20, but 30 years ago, âthisâ could have been considered something ânot badâ and interesting, but now purely plot-wise, and even more so in terms of direction, this is some kind of nonsense... even without quotes. Almost every scene causes a facepalm with the behavior of the characters involved in it, but the mediocre plot and general idea... Well, itâs even difficult to find some kind of expression, except that Hollywood was written up and filmed. I love science fiction and am ready to watch and love any of it, even with Justin Timberleck, if there is at least something interesting there... but âitâ is simply nothing and nothing with anything. To a fellow article writer, of course, my advice is to read a little more and look through science fiction before making such headlines
