Channel One wants to start filming a remake of the film “Seven Samurai” in the spring, the main roles in which will be played by digital avatars of Soviet actors. About it writes TASS with reference to the general director of the channel Konstantin Ernst.
The film will take place during the Civil War. Of the seven main characters, two will be played by modern Russian actors (casting has not yet been confirmed), and five will be played by “great Soviet actors in their best age phase.”
So far, the selection of actors who can act as the basis for the digitized versions is underway - they will be used for motion capture, and the faces will be replaced in editing. One of the roles can be played by Milos Bikovich (“Challenge”, “Slave”).
For now, the main goal of the creators is to find suitable actors. If this succeeds, filming will begin - it will take about a year.
