Swiss company Punkt. showed MC02 is a new generation gadget that the manufacturer calls a smarter phone - a “smarter phone” (as opposed to a smartphone - a “smart phone”). The new product is designed to give the user peace of mind and confidence in the safety of the device he is using.

MC02 runs on ApostrophyOS, a new operating system based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP 13). Unlike Android, all standard applications (Messages, Calendar, Mail, etc.) are free of advertising and do not transmit user data to anyone. Also, the built-in protection system does not allow third-party sites and applications to access personal information, and the list of standard applications includes a reliable VPN from the creators of the OS. The entire system interface is black and white.

According to technical characteristics, this is an ordinary smartphone with a 6.67-inch screen with an IPS matrix and a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels (contrary to the promotional photo, it is color). The performance is handled by MediaTek Dimensity 900, complemented by 6 GB of LPDDR5 memory. Built-in memory is 128 GB, there is support for microSD memory cards with a capacity of up to 2 TB (hybrid slot: you have to choose between additional space and a second SIM card).

The main camera is 64 MP with autofocus and 4x zoom, there are also two modules of 8 MP (ultra-wide-angle) and 2 MP (macro). Selfie camera 24 MP. The battery capacity is 5,500 mAh, and supports fast charging via wire and without 18 W.

Punkt. MC02 is priced at 699 euros (≈67,800 rubles) and will go on sale in January. In addition to the cost of the gadget itself, you will also have to pay for the system: the first year its use is free, and after that you will need to pay 15 Swiss francs (≈1,500 rubles) monthly.
