An international group of student anthropologists from the Ancestral Whispers project with portrait precision recreated appearance of Ingigerda Olofsdotter, also known as Irina or Anna. This is the daughter of the Swedish king Olaf Shetkonung and the second wife of Yaroslav the Wise from the Rurik dynasty.
Her appearance was able to be reconstructed thanks to the preserved parts of the skull. As a result, the authors of the work turned out to be a friendly woman with pronounced Northern European features and blond hair. At the same time, the color of hair, eyes and skin may not be entirely reliable due to the lack of necessary information, experts noted.
It is believed that Ingigerda lived from 1001 to 1050. In adulthood, she took an active part in government affairs. In her marriage to Yaroslav, the princess gave birth to six sons and four daughters, three of whom became queens of France, Hungary and Norway.
