People from Apple presented AI Pin - a replacement for a smartphone without a screen based on ChatGPT

The startup Humane, founded by Apple ex-workers Imran Chaudhry and Bethany Bongiorno, presented his first gadget - AI Pin. The media called this device “the smartphone of the future.”

The device consists of two parts: a square body and a battery pack. Using magnets, it can be attached to clothing or other surfaces. It runs on a Snapdragon processor, the model of which has not yet been disclosed.

AI Pin does not have a display, as it needs to be controlled using voice. But the speaker and camera are in place. There are also depth and motion sensors. In addition, a mini-projector is built into the case, which can transmit information to external surfaces, including the palm. You can also interact by touching the touchpad. Moreover, some functions are activated in this way. For example, you need to enable audio and video recording manually.

The main task of the new product is to connect to artificial intelligence models using software that the company calls AI Mic. But access to ChatGPT is one of the main features. The Cosmos operating system is designed to automatically redirect user requests to the right tools, rather than having to download and manage applications. The developers literally created a physical embodiment of the chatbot.

Therefore, the device provides access to standard neural network functions. It can write messages in the style of the owner, prepare summaries of incoming emails, analyze the nutritional value of products from just a photo, and so on. But besides this, it can be used as a phone.

The manufacturer claims that AI Pin is a completely autonomous device. That is, to use it you do not need synchronization with a smartphone.

The device was valued at $700 (≈65,000 rubles). But to use it you will need another monthly subscription for $24 (≈2,000 rubles). It includes a phone number on the T-Mobile network, cloud storage and unlimited access to AI. Pre-orders will be available starting November 16th. Deliveries will begin in early 2024.
