The clock will remind you that it is time to see a doctor.
By words well-known insider and Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman, Apple is preparing a major update to the Watch Series. The new 10th generation of the accessory will feature an “innovative” blood pressure sensor that will allow you to detect hypertension.
This technology will be designed to simply notify the user if their blood pressure is trending high. At the same time, the watch will prompt you to make an entry in an observation log, which will record what exactly happened when hypertension occurred.
To avoid possible misdiagnosis, this feature will prompt the user to talk to their doctor or check your blood pressure with a traditional cuff, which will help provide more accurate systolic and diastolic readings measurements.
Also, the new watches in 2024 should have a sleep apnea detection function. It will analyze breathing patterns in order to immediately refer users to a doctor if necessary.
Gurman also recalled Apple’s creation of technology for non-invasive monitoring of blood glucose levels. However, you definitely shouldn’t expect such a function in watches in the next year—its refinement may take several more years.
Apple Watch Series 10 is due to launch alongside the iPhone 16 in fall 2024.
