Chrome search bar on iOS can now be moved to the bottom - just like in Safari
Miscellaneous / / November 02, 2023
An update for everyone who can't reach the top of the screen with their finger.
Google announced about the public launch of a feature that began to be tested back in the summer - the ability to move the address bar to the bottom of the screen. In the standard Safari browser, this option is offered by default, starting with iOS 15.
It works simply: just hold down the search bar and select the “Move address bar down” option in the menu that appears (or up, if you want to return everything as it was).
Google noted that users have long requested this feature because the convenient position of the search bar depends on the size of the smartphone and the hand of its owner.
You can move the search bar down in Chrome browser version 119, but the function is distributed separately from the number update, so it is not yet available to all users. If the function is not yet available to you, but you really want to try, use our instructionsto enable it manually.
