It seems that the new GTA is really highly anticipated.
Russian developer Timur Abdrakhimov released MiniMap Radar navigator in the style of GTA: Vice City. This is a mini map from the game for the Apple Watch. Immediately after its release, it became a hit on the App Store. And a few days later in many countries, including Russia, it soared to first place in the top paid applications in the “Navigation” category.
In the first 24 hours alone, the program’s page on the marketplace was visited by 21 thousand users, and purchased more than 1,600 times. It costs 99 rubles.
In MiniMap Radar you can mark points and build navigation in the city based on them. And images from GTA and emoji are used as icons. Geotags can even be given unique names. All this is synchronized with Apple Watch. A radar with current location is available from the watch at any time.
The iOS app has a Real Life AR mode that allows you to use your smartphone camera for navigation.
At some point, I even made a model of a helicopter from Vice City and inserted it into augmented reality. But due to problems with optimizing the application, I never finished working with the controls. Therefore, it remained as a small Easter egg and appears after double tapping the screen.

The navigator also has GTA-style sound effects. Abdrakhimov promises to diversify their set in the future so that the application becomes “even more authentic.”
Currently, MiniMap Radar still has problems with placing markers on the phone and synchronizing with the watch. The developer promises to solve them in future updates. In the future, he wants to transfer the map to a new API so that he can draw various shapes with vectors and rotate them.
After the hype on the Internet, many Android users also wanted this application. However, the developer statedthat it will never appear on this OS.
