David Fincher talks about his World War Z sequel, which was canceled

Directed by David Fincher for the first time told about his canceled sequel to the zombie blockbuster World War Z. The original film with Brad Pitt was released in 2013.
According to him, the sequel was "a little like the series The Last of Us». Apparently, it's about the plot. Now the filmmaker is glad that the film was never released.
The creators of The Last of Us had much more opportunities to explore this topic. We were going to use a little parasite in the opening credits... And they did that at the beginning of their show too. It turned out in the style of The Dick Cavett Show.

Project closed at the beginning of 2019 - after two years of development. The media found out that Fincher asked for production less than $190 million, which the first part cost, but Paramount studio refused to allocate the money.
World War Z grossed $540 million worldwide. It is one of the highest-grossing zombie films in history. On Rotten Tommatoes it has 66% from critics and 72% from viewers.
