A real space thriller that fascinates with its beauty.
Hubble Telescope did incredible new photo. This time he captured the collision of three distant galaxies. They are located approximately 500 million light years from Earth in the constellation Tucana.
The photo clearly shows NGC 7733 (the smaller one) and NGC 7734 (the larger one). The third system is called NGC 7733N and is not so noticeable, because it is partially hidden by dark cosmic dust. In addition, it is located directly above NGC 7733 and appears to be part of it. But an analysis of speeds and direction showed that this is still a separate object.
After studying the gravitational effects of all three galaxies, scientists came to the conclusion that they are in close interaction with each other. Astronomers call this a “merger group.” This means that they are on the way to unite into a single structure.
