Two-factor authentication has become mandatory at State Services
Miscellaneous / / October 20, 2023
The Russian government approved a resolution on additional confirmation of login on the government services website. Two-factor authentication is now mandatory for all users. About it writes TASS with reference to the relevant document.
To enter the portal, you will need to enter not only your login and password, but also undergo additional security. To do this, you may need to enter a one-time code from an SMS message or verify your identity using biometrics, if the user voluntarily provided this data and agreed to it usage.
You can install the second protection factor on the State Services website in your personal account. There, in the “Security” section, you need to click “Login with confirmation” and select one of three options for additional confirmation.
It is expected that the new account login rules will better protect personal data and sites where a person logs in with a login and password for government services.
