YouTube will launch a news page in its mobile application

Google will add news page in the YouTube mobile application. It will feature videos, live streams, podcasts and Shorts from authoritative sources.

The format of its work is not yet entirely clear. It is reported that to launch you will need to click on a video with a newspaper icon on the main page or in search results, after which a feed with content on the selected topic should appear on the screen. For example, about floods in Pakistan. That is, it is not a separate tab or a permanent button in the interface, which would be much simpler. And not an aggregator of the main news of the day.

The feature will soon be available to users in approximately 40 countries. Which ones exactly have not yet been specified. In the future it will be added to the desktop version of the site.

Google wants to invest $1.6 million to create and promote short news videos on its platform. The company intends to work with global news agencies.
