Martin Scorsese spoke about his next film - starring DiCaprio

In a long interview with The Times, director Martin Scorsese told what he plans to do after “Killers of the Flower Moon" - his 27th film, which will be released on October 20.

Scorsese's next film will become "Wager" is an adaptation of the book "Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder" by David Grann. It is based on real events that occurred in the 1740s.

In the story, a raft with 30 exhausted sailors sails to the shores of Brazil. They claim to have escaped from the British frigate Wager, which was wrecked, and they had to survive for several months on a desert island until they managed to build a raft and sail away. They are celebrated as heroes, but six months later another raft arrived with sailors from the Wager - who said that in fact there had been a mutiny on the ship.

Scorsese noted that he will play the main role Leonardo DiCaprio, but there are no other details about the cast yet.

At the same time, the director is working on a film adaptation of the novel “Home” by Marilynne Robinson, a 2008 book that tells about the fate of one family in Iowa in the 60s. Scorsese notes that while this is a much smaller project than Wager in terms of production, the story within is perhaps even larger.
