On forums dedicated to Apple technology, started to appear iPhone user complaints. They note that with the update to iOS 17, smartphones began to randomly turn off for several hours at night without the knowledge of users.
In some cases, turning off the matter is not limited to. How writes Reddit user nathan_lesage whose iPhone went offline between 3 and 7 a.m. After that, he had to enter the SIM card PIN and turn off sleep mode manually because the smartphone did not wake up automatically.

“My smartphone did the same, the graph is identical. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max on iOS 17.0.3. But it seems to me that it was not turned off all this time - when I woke up at night, it was just rebooting. It seems to me that after the restart, the battery usage graph simply did not register until I unlocked it in the morning,” manelpf.
“One day I woke up at 2:30 in the morning and my smartphone was completely turned off. I had a work meeting at 4am and would have gotten in trouble if I missed a call shortly after that meeting. For people like me, this is unacceptable,”
buglz.“I knew that it wasn’t just my imagination! When I checked my smartphone this morning, I also realized that it had rebooted at some point during the night,” Critical_C0conut.
The main concern of users is the risk of missing an important call, but there is no evidence that the smartphones were actually turned off for the entire time that was displayed on the graph. You can check whether this happened to your smartphone at night in the settings: open the “Battery” section and look at the report for the last 24 hours.
Apple has not yet commented on the situation.
