Together with smartphones Pixel 8 Google today introduced the Pixel Watch 2 smart watch. The new product offers a number of improvements compared to last year's model.
Its aluminum body was completely redesigned and made from stainless steel. And the design has become more sporty. But it's still a watch with a round 41mm OLED screen with a resolution of 384 x 384 and a crown on the side.
Google abandoned the Exynos chip. The new watch runs on Snapdragon W5 with Adreno 702 graphics. The amount of RAM remained unchanged - 2 GB.
Three new sensors have been added to the back, including a multi-path Fitbit. The device now provides more accurate and reliable heart rate measurement, even during intense physical activity.
As for activity, the watch has learned to automatically detect the start of a workout and pause it if the user decides to take a break. And the new Pace Training feature allows you to control the pace of movement during exercise.
Now they can also monitor the body's reactions and determine stress levels. Users now have the opportunity to mark their mood. If a problem is detected, the device itself suggests solutions, for example, breathing exercises or a walk.
Another new sensor allows Pixel Watch 2 to measure skin temperature, track sleep and overall well-being. All metrics, statistics and AI analytics can be viewed in the updated Fitbit app.
The 306 mAh battery lasts for 24 hours in Always-on-diplay mode. And it charges faster – 30 minutes is enough for 12 hours of operation. Other features include new straps, updated dials and IP68 water and dust protection with a immersion depth of up to 50 meters.
The Pixel Watch 2 smartwatch is already available for pre-order in the US. The model with Wi-Fi was priced at $350 (≈35,000 rubles), with LTE at $400 (≈40,000 rubles).
