Reverse charge: “Am I some kind of joke to you?”
Some iPhone 15 Pro users noticedthat their smartphone is trying to charge the power bank via USB-C - instead of being powered by it. It is noteworthy that in two posts on Reddit and forum MacRumors the same model is mentioned - the popular Anker PowerCore Slim 10k PD.
The MacRumors portal notes that other models are also affected, but due to the huge number of power banks from different brands, it is not possible to compile a complete list. Anker has already commented on a message from the owner of an iPhone 15 Pro Max that does not charge via USB-C in the PowerCore Slim 10k PD:
It appears that the reverse charging feature of the iPhone 15 series smartphones is affecting USB-C charging on the Anker PowerCore Slim 10k PD. There is no solution at the moment. The only way to charge your iPhone is to use the USB-A port.
Anker will conduct additional tests on all power banks to find out which models are affected and try to find a solution.

Perhaps due to the way reverse charging works, the iPhone 15 is defined as a power bank as an accessory that requires charging - and not as a power source. There is also a possibility that the power bank is confusing the smartphone with the charger.
If you already bought an iPhone 15, check in advance whether your power bank works via USB-C - otherwise in a critical situation, you can spend the last percent of your smartphone’s charge to power the power bank, and not the other way around.
