Users from all over the world will be able to compete and learn from each other.
In Russia is being developed international online platform for playing chess to replace Chess.com, which Roskomnadzor blocked in April 2022. It will be called Chess.ru; the creators have already bought the corresponding domain for 2.7 million rubles.
The project is being created as the largest Russian chess portal; applications for iOS and Android will also be available. The launch is expected in March 2024.
The site will have the opportunity to verify players who already have official categories and ranks. When selecting opponents, the level of players will be taken into account. Also planned are on-demand game functions: ordinary users will be able to play with famous chess players, and, by agreement, also receive a game analysis. This service will be paid.
The owner of the platform, Pavel Osipov, noted in a conversation with Izvestia that the platform will fight against cheaters - a serious problem with free online platforms. The developers are going to use AI systems to analyze games and detect foul play. This could help set Chess.ru apart from other platforms that have poor control over dishonest players, which often results in them losing users.
