ChatGPT has learned to search for information on the Internet during a conversation

Now the chatbot will provide sources - but for now only to subscribers.
OpenAI reported, that ChatGPT can now search the Internet for the latest information from “relevant and authoritative” sources and link to them in responses. Previously, the bot was limited to data published before September 2021.
The feature is called “Search with Bing” and is currently only available to users with Plus and Enterprise subscriptions, but will soon be available to everyone. By default, search is not active; you need to enable it as a separate mode in the settings. After this, the user will finally have the opportunity to check that ChatGPT has definitely not messed anything up - and make their life easier by immediately receiving a link.
Note that ChatGPT is far from the first with this function: Microsoft Bing and Google Bard chatbots are already able to search for relevant information during a conversation. OpenAI tried to implement search in ChatGPT in May, but quickly withdrew the feature, presumably because ChatGPT allowed access to paid articles. Everything has been fixed in the new version.
