Instant games will appear in Windows 11 - you can play them without installation
Miscellaneous / / September 27, 2023
You no longer have to clutter your computer with one-day adventure games.
Windows users will be able to try new games without downloading and installing them on their computer. This will be possible thanks to the new Instant Games feature, which will appear as part of the next Windows 11 update.
It's a new experience that lets you play your favorite games directly from the Microsoft Store on Windows.

The new feature will work similarly to Instant Play on Android: if the game supports this function, then it can be launched without downloading and installing. However, on smartphones the option only works with small games - up to 15 MB. Whether this will be a limitation on PC is still unknown.
The company is collaborating with game publishers to expand its Instant Games collection, although specific titles have not yet been revealed. We only know that the feature will become publicly available in the coming weeks - an update with it has already begun to spread.
Later this month, the corporation also promises to change the way the Microsoft Store works. The system will allow users to choose which drives and folders they want to install games on.
