The ice has broken: the Writers Guild has begun to negotiate with studios

Writers Guild of America (WGA) reached preliminary agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) to end the strike after nearly five months. The parties have finally agreed on the framework of a new three-year deal.
The next steps in this process involve the WGA Negotiating Committee, led by Ellen Stutzman will vote to “recommend the agreement and forward it to the WGAW Board and Council for approval WGAE." Primary voting is scheduled for Tuesday.
Another vote by the relevant board and council could lift the "restraining order" on the strike and allowing writers to return to work during the ratification vote is a big deal for both the WGA and studios In anticipation of these votes, the WGA informed its members that it was still on strike, but that all picketing was hereby suspended. Only after ratification will daytime and late-night comedy shows be allowed to return to the airwaves.
Ending the WGA strike should help end the Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) strike. When all parties come to terms acceptable to all, many paused films and TV series will be put back into production. For example,
