How to use the Aria chatbot in the Opera browser

What is Aria

Aria is a large language model system built into the latest version of the Opera One browser. The chatbot uses proprietary Opera Composer technology based on ChatGPT. The Composer architecture allows Aria to be connected to different neural network models in addition to the OpenAI service.

The bot is useful for searching information on the Internet, composing literary texts and program code, as well as discovering new ideas. Aria can provide help information on its own browser — it will be easier for a new user to understand Opera applications and services.

What Aria can do

Aria collects responses using the GPT 3.5 model, and also uses all open information on the Web. The chatbot is good at explaining complex terms and concepts, for example. It will help you quickly understand scientific information, prepare for an exam, or solve a math problem. The service provides short and clear descriptions.

Opera Aria can quickly analyze texts and also translate them from 50 languages, including Russian, English,

Spanish, French, German, Arabic and many others. The system is also capable of reducing voluminous materials, collecting from them understandable extracts point by point.

The Opera chatbot will come in handy when writing essays, resumes, articles, letters and other works. Aria can generate entire text, but it's better to use the assistant for inspiration and useful tips. For example, to quickly select travel routes, lists of attractions and culinary recipes.

Aria will also help beginners during programming training. The bot can generate and format code examples based on requests in different languages. For convenience, information can be collected in data table format.

How to use Aria in the Opera browser

The Aria chatbot is launched through the sidebar on the left side of the default browser screen. Just click on the corresponding icon and a dialog with a field for entering queries will open.

It is worth noting that in Russia the bot may not respond to entered requests, giving an error. In this case, to work you will have to activate any convenient VPN service. In addition, you need to log in with your ready-made Opera account. If you do not have an account, you will be prompted to create one when you first launch.

The fastest way to interact with Aria in a browser is through the command line. You don't even need to open the side panel to do this. Simply launch the line using the keyboard shortcut “Ctrl + /” on Windows or “Cmd + /” on Mac, then type the question and press Enter.

Aria has a useful Highlight Tooltip feature. When you highlight text on a web page, you can choose one of three options from the pop-up menu: “At a Glance” explain", "Research the topic" and "Translate". In the first case, the chatbot will provide a short explanation on the topic of the highlighted paragraph in the context of the page. With the second command, Aria will provide a more detailed overview of the selected text with useful links and search keywords. The third function helps you quickly translate the selection into a language recognized by the browser.

The chatbot cannot yet create complex images or graphics. Aria works best when presenting information in text. But at the same time, the system can format paragraphs in different styles. For example, the digital assistant highlights lines of code appropriately.

Aria is capable of responding to individual requests, remembering part of the context of the correspondence. This helps the neural network stay within a specific session and respond to you without repeating previous commands, as well as expand the topic.

The chatbot will generate useful and relevant results if you enter detailed queries without vague language. At the same time, it is better not to use professional slang or abbreviations that are difficult to understand.

If Aria gives an answer with errors, you can correct it by indicating the correct option. This will help the language model improve the final output. Even small changes in query details can affect the quality of the result.
