The creator of the vampire saga “Underworld” confirmed plans for the series

Underworld franchise creator Len Wiseman talks to Entertainment Weekly confirmedthat the saga of the confrontation between vampires and lycans is still alive and will be continued in a series format.

The director mentioned this project back in 2017, but since then there have been no new details. Then Wiseman noted, that the series will be very different from the films and will be "definitely less comic book-ish" in tone.

Wiseman was involved in all five films in the Underworld franchise, co-writing and directing the first two and producing the remaining three. He will also serve as the show's executive producer.

Most likely, the series will tell a different story from the fields of the eternal war between vampires and lycans, since Kate Beckinsale, who played the vampire Selina, does not intend to return to this role.
