A woman accidentally swallowed her AirPods Pro and it continued to work in her stomach

American Mo Kennedy accidentally while sleeping swallowed one of his AirPods Pro headphones. And what started out as a strange dream turned into an unforgettable trip to the emergency room in the middle of the night.

At first, the woman wanted to induce vomiting so that the earphone would come out on its own, but she didn’t succeed. She decided to play it safe and called an ambulance. Upon arrival at the department, the doctors were surprised by the situation itself and the fact that the swallowed earphone continued to work. Kennedy's mother was able to connect to the AirPods Pro and hear her daughter's stomach sounds and laughter.

After performing a CT scan, the medical team discovered that the earpiece had quickly moved deeper into the stomach and was stuck in a dangerous position. There were concerns that the problem could result from an invasive surgical procedure, so doctors decided to perform an emergency endoscopy.

The procedure to remove the foreign body was successful, under anesthesia. When Kennedy woke up, there was a cup with her earphone on her lap. Grateful for the successful outcome and the exceptional care she received, she

thanked medical staff for their positive attitude and good humor regarding the whole situation.

This is not the first such case in recent years. Not so long ago another woman swallowed AirPods Pro earphone, confusing it with a vitamin. There was no medical intervention there.
