WhatsApp channels are now available to all users

whatsapp announced about launching channels around the world. This function appeared in the messenger back in June, but before that it was available only in 10 countries. Now - everywhere.

The company describes the new option as "a simple, secure and private way to keep up with important news from people and organizations." Channels are displayed separately from chats and communities - in a new “Current” tab.

Along with the full-scale launch, the function received a number of new features. Among them is an improved catalog of channels (about sports, music, cinema, etc.), the ability to set reactions and forward posts to chats or groups.

Authors can publish texts, photos, videos, polls and stickers. It is noted that subscribers’ phones are hidden from other users and the administrator.

Soon everyone will be able to create channels, and their administrators will be able to edit posts in within 30 days from the date of publication (then the update history is automatically deleted from the servers messenger). These improvements should appear in the coming months. And to use existing ones, you need to update the application to the current version.
