Logitech introduced Reach, a webcam with a tripod arm that can be pointed in any direction
Miscellaneous / / September 12, 2023
Logitech presented Reach is a webcam with an articulating arm that allows you to fine-tune the position of the camera and move it smoothly during a conversation. The manufacturer claims that it will make online meetings more interactive, and will also be useful for conducting lessons and streams.
The stand will be offered in two versions: standard tabletop and with a table mount like a clamp (aka “clothespin”). These bases will be replaceable; if necessary, the buyer will be able to separately purchase the second version. In both cases, the tripod arm will remain unchanged, as for a microphone or camera.
This hand allows you to smoothly move the camera vertically and horizontally, and you can also rotate the camera itself. The main features of Reach are smoothness and stabilization, which distinguish it from its analogues. Manufacturers claim that such devices usually do not allow the user to quickly and accurately adjust the desired camera position - but Reach will.
The camera itself is not new - it is a Logitech StreamCam released in 2020 with support for recording in 1080p @ 60 fps. It has autofocus and also supports 4.3x zoom. If the camera itself fails, it can be replaced with a new StreamCam, rather than purchasing the entire set with a bracket again.
Logitech Reach will first be available through Indiegogo Enterprise crowdfunding. According to The Verge, the manufacturer has not yet decided on the relationship between design and price: it could range from $299 to $399 (excluding crowdfunding discounts). This is approximately 28,300 and 37,800 rubles, respectively. Release dates have not yet been disclosed. Logitech StreamCam separately costs $169 (≈16,000 rubles) - but due to the fact that the model is not new, it is not difficult to find it at a discount.
