Apple will say goodbye to the iPhone mini: there will be no more 5.4-inch smartphones

It seems that no one needs compact flagships after all.
Stocks of iPhone 13 mini in Apple warehouses are coming to an end: waiting times for some options reach 6-8 weeks. This may indicate that the iPhone 13 mini will be removed from sale after announcement 15th generation on Tuesday. About it writes MacRumors, citing Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman.
Last year, Apple did not release the iPhone 14 mini, but kept the 13 mini on sale as the only option with a 5.4-inch screen. After the presentation, it is likely that only the new iPhone 15 series plus the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 and the 4.7-inch third-generation iPhone SE will be offered on the Apple website.
Although it initially seemed that with the release of smartphones with the mini prefix, Apple was satisfying the demand for compact flagships, statistics showed that in reality few people need these models. In April 2022, analysts from CIRP calculated, that in the first quarter of the year the mini model accounted for only 3% of sales of the entire iPhone 13 line in the United States.
For now, buyers are left with a compact alternative in the form of the iPhone SE, but even that will receive 6.1-inch body in the next iteration. It looks like Apple is admitting defeat and moving away from small screens in smartphones entirely.
