The green top panel will be a thing of the past.
WhatsApp is preparing a redesigned interface for the Android app. Interface updates appeared in WhatsApp build 2.23.13.16, which is available to some beta testers.
Judging by the screenshots, the interface has been brought into line with the Material Design 3 design language. The top bar is now white instead of green, while the interface elements are green - including the icon for creating a new chat and links. We also added an active profile image to the top panel for the convenience of users with multiple accounts.

To make it easier for users to navigate chats, filters "unread", "private" and "work" appeared at the top of the screen. It is not yet known whether the user will be able to add their own filters. But it is already known that the introduction of filters testing and in the iOS version of the app, so the feature won't be exclusive to Android.
When these interface changes will appear in the stable version of the messenger, it has not yet been reported.
