Game mode and clear picture even in daylight.
Back in May, Chinese home entertainment equipment company XGIMI announced that it managed to combine the best aspects of LED and laser light sources in one projection mechanism. Now she introduced the first product with the new technology is Horizon Ultra.
The company is billing the new addition to its Horizon lineup as "the world's first long throw 4K home projector with Dolby Vision." But the main feature here is perhaps the new optical setup that offers the best of both worlds.
Single laser projectors boast high brightness, but often at the expense of color and image quality. Models that use the three-laser approach offer a bright and rich image, but often with artifacts. At the same time, LEDs provide more natural colors and better eye comfort at a relatively low cost, but the overall brightness leaves much to be desired.
After years of research, XGIMI claims to have solved these problems with its Dual Light technology. And it is this optical engine that is present in the new flagship projector.
Horizon Ultra's brightness reaches 2300 ANSI-lumens, which allows you to watch movies in comfort even in daylight - the curtains can no longer be closed. There is support for MEMS technology for smoothing objects moving in the frame and HDR10 for displaying the smallest details between the darkest and brightest places.
Optics automatically adjust to environmental conditions: Proprietary ISA 3.0 technology adjusts brightness, contrast and color for day or night viewing time, scales the image with optical zoom, adjusts keystone distortion, and adapts the output signal for optimal viewing in color surfaces.
The throw ratio is 1.2-1.5:1, which provides stunning images up to 200 inches diagonally.
The device runs Android TV 11 and supports Chromecast, and the system received 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory.
The Horizon Ultra is equipped with a Harman Kardon audio system, consisting of two 12W Dolby Audio speakers. Connectivity is represented by two HDMI ports (one with eARC), as well as USB, LAN, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The projector supports 4K 60Hz gaming mode with as little as 18 milliseconds.
The Horizon Ultra comes with a remote control. The device is already for sale on the company's website for $1,700 (≈164,000 rubles).
