Dolby has taught TVs to adjust the sound according to the layout of the room

American company Dolby Laboratories announced new technology in the field of audio technology - Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. It allows TV speakers to pair with wireless speakers and improve sound quality.

This is done through intelligent optimization of acoustics depending on the layout of the room and the location of the speakers in it. It is noted that this is not just amplification of the common channel due to interfacing with third-party devices, but sound calibration.

The company claims that setup is quick and easy because the acoustic mapping performed using microphones inside the TV - the technology itself determines the location of each dynamics. In accordance with the available equipment, the operation of the microphones inside the television receiver also changes.

For example, if the speakers are placed at the front of the room, the TV can take over the dialogue while external devices handle the rest of the soundstages.

FlexConnect is expected to debut on TCL's TV lineup in 2024. And after the company plans to release speakers with this technology.
