Firefox has learned to hide users' emails
Miscellaneous / / August 30, 2023
Firefox browser received new Relay function. This is analogous toSign in with Apple» in Safari, which works with a Firefox account. With it, the user does not have to enter his real mail when registering on sites or filling out forms. Firefox will make a fake mailbox that will receive mail. Further, all messages will be forwarded to a real email, and before being sent to you, trackers and advertising spam will be removed from them.
In this case, the user will be able to view a list of his "mask" mailboxes and deactivate them if necessary.
With this approach, real mail will be safe even if the site is leaked: only the "mask" provided by Firefox will be in the email list. Previously, such a tool was available as a free extension, but now it is built into the browser itself.
Distribution of Firefox Relay has already begun, and within a couple of weeks, the function should work for all users of the browser.
